Our children are moved room to room based on their individual development, instead of strictly their age. Therefore the ages listed below are accompanied with some of the milestones we consider when placing and transitioning our students.
Infant 1: Six weeks to eight/ten months. As friends start pulling up and crawling with confidence they will transition.
Infant 2: Ten months to 14 months. This room helps build leg muscles and get friends on their feet.
Toddler 1: 14 months to 18 months. Once a friend is on their feet they will join this room. As they start speaking real words and interacting with others in their play they will transition.
Toddler 2: 18 months to 24 months. Friends will start expanding their communication and diversifying their play. Once they turn two, they're off to the next room.
Twos 1: 2 years to 2 1/2 years. Vocabularies will emerge rapidly and unique personalities will blossom as our friends explore what it means to be themselves. Once they start the potty training process they can move on up.
2 1/2 years to 3 years. As they master the use of the potty and
familiarize themselves with the bathroom they will also begin
recognizing letters and identifying early math concepts, such as shapes,
colors, and counting. Once these little ones turn three and are fully potty trained, they can switch over to the big kids room!
Threes: Friends will dive into learning by developing handwriting and beginning phonetics. They will think critically and make real life connections as well as, continue developing their social skills through guided conflict resolution and compromise.
This Pre-K program will give your child all the tools they need to
succeed in Kindergarten. They will master writing their first and last
name, have a firm understanding of letter sounds, will
begin identifying sight words, and continue to develop their creativity and confidence.
Afterschoolers: From five years to twelve years, our after-school friends will make their way off the bus to the Firefly room where they will be able to complete their homework with a snack.
